Lots of information delivered in a straight-forward and easy to understand manner. While much more could be written about the Civil War, this text covers the key points, documents, battles, and people. For those looking to learn more there are additional resources listed at the back. This list is quite brief and could have been fleshed out much more since this is such a key part of American history and social studies curricula. There are a few primary source letters/diaries, many photos/paintings, and frequent sidebars with additional interesting tidbits. Recommended for those who need the basics of the struggle laid out in a clear and orderly fashion.
