Very frustrating characters, but fun read. Still confused about if I like it or not but want to read the next one

This is the 2nd book in the Magnolia Parks series, but this time our MC is Daisy.  She's a badass and smart but such an idiot when it comes to love.  Her brother runs the biggest crime gang in London, but she is trying to be a normal college gal. And boy is she complicated as a character. I wanted to strangle her but at the same time adored her relationship with Christian.  And I really felt for all the tragedy she had gone through.  I really liked her thoughts as footnotes in the book, but it's hard to read on Kindle.  Can't wait to go back to Magnolia's POV in the next book!

While this book still held some similar themes, there was also some polarizing differences between Magnolia's book and Daisy's book. First and foremost being, their upbringing. Daisy was sheltered majority of her life because of the occupation that her brother has. He was her provider growing up, and it's all she's known. Getting to know her character in depth and how she navigates life and her relationship with Christian was so different, and yet--still so raw. I was rooting for Daisy and Christian's relationship, especially because they had been through similar circumstances throughout their life and previous relationships. The ending of this book had me ALL UP IN my feels.

I loved the footnotes at the bottom of Daisy’s chapters.

This book felt slightly less toxic, but more sad than Magnolia Parks was. I can’t stop reading now because there are too many storylines that I need to see have a satisfying conclusion.

I wish I knew before reading this that it overlaps with Magnolia Parks because I think tandem reading would make this even better.

One of the things I didn’t like is that the text messages felt like they were in the wrong places at times. It wasn’t always clear who they were from or to and it looks as if some were placed wrongly since they seemingly didn’t involve the character who's POV they were in.
