I wish all series could wrap up like this one. Incredibly satisfying. Complex world build with a large cast of characters and the author manages to bring the events of all three to a fabulous end. If end it be.

Spoiler alert:

It's not difficult to imagine a series where we revisit this world after the scythes have essentially been reduced to Dr. Kevorkian's in the post scythe world. I can also imagine a story set in this universe where people decide to try and outwit the nanites that infect humans and essentially do the work of scythes. Finally, how about a story set on the distant world that Citra and Rowan arrive at. I'd love that, but for now incredibly happy at the way things wrapped up. Great series.

I nearly dnf’d this but I made myself finish it.

It feels like the author swapped genres with this book, more Sifi than dystopian...

Did he just forget rowan in the middle of the book? Because he was gone for ages. After the ships left was the best part of the book (except for reunions between citra and others.) it broke my heart that Astrid was all alone for a thousand + years and rowan had to live 117 years without citra and wouldn’t go deadish for that time because she would hate it.

Overall I give the last 1 1/2 hours of the audiobook 5 ⭐️ and the rest 2.5 ⭐️
