A step down from the masterpieces that were The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, but still great.

While a great novel it can be jarring when read following the first two Witcher books in the series as it is the first not be comprised of short stories

I think this book would have been better if the POVs had stuck mostly to Ciri and Geralt. I'm not sure why Tris was a main POV character for half the book. The pacing was a bit disjointed, so I found it difficult to keep reading at times. Still, love the characters and the world, and I'm scared to read the next one *cries*

So little felt resolved or consequential in this book, due to its jumpiness, and the hours upon hours of political discussion (I think this measured out to about 30% of the book). There were tidbits that I knew were important due to having watched the show and looking into the world beforehand, but my interest started to peter out at about 50%. I might take a look at a physical copy to see if it's formatted on a way that makes more sense (but I doubt it will be). I'm still planning to try the rest of the series at this point.
