this is a fun read. it is very predicable but still enjoyable. there were some moments i didn't care for and it was not as exciting as the first in the series, but it still had its funny moments.

Learning that she is pregnant; Shannon is overjoyed as ever, maybe a little nauseas. Having to return back to her old world is not what she expected. Meeting new members of the family, old ones, and experiencing death, Shannon has a long way to go before she could ever get back to Partholon.

I read this book years ago and it's the only book I can read over and over again. This book is something special.

How the book starts and how it develops is brilliant. I adore Shannon Parker; she is one of those lead female characters that is so strong and sure of herself; her morals, her personality, her kindness is something I respect and look up to. I find her an inspiration to me.

Clanfintan is *swoons* I can't get enough of him; he is the perfect book husband.

I don't know how to review this over than gushing over how wonderful this book was. I have never read a book that opened my eyes to so much.

The world itself that P.C. Cast has created is something amazing on it's own and I mean just the general setting, how she describes how everything that Shannon sees is like I'm right there long with her.

The writing, the way she describes it, everything as a whole is wonderful.

I can't praise this enough. You haven't read until you've completed this. Every character from the evil to the good are brilliant. You even fall in love with minor characters, characters that don't speak (well the Epi, she's just a sweetie!) and even the goddess herself.

The development in the main character Shannon herself is brilliant how she handles everything; how brave and strong, caring and dependant, loving and open minded she has become even more, how strong the friendships and the romances in this book are.

You can't help but fall in love with the world, the characters from the minor to major, to everything; from the first word to the final, it takes you on a journey I know I will never forget!

Divine by Choice is another winner. I do think it’s odd that on goodreads.com it shows this book as 4th in the series…but I’m sure this is the 2nd book, so there is some confusion there.

The main character, Shannon, is pulled back to her own world and she doesn’t want to be there. She quickly finds that her life is no longer what she knew and has been totally turned upside down. She ends up stuck there trying to kill a vampire-ish monster thing she helped kill in the last book. Her mirror from Partholon, Rhiannon, is still up to her evil ways and practice of dark magic. The story, though a little predictable, still flows smoothly and stays true to the theme of the book. This like the 1st book is also a fast read and very light ready material.

Another excellent book! However, I don't understand why the Partholon books aren't numbered differently. I would have first read the three divine books (divine by mistake, divine by choice and divine by blood) before reading Elphame's Choice and Brighid's Quest.
Anyway, the stories are great, and I love Rhea, she's excellent, funny, intelligent, strong and goofy.

Maybe I am a prude, but I just could not forgive her for cheating on her husband. Healing with sex... I heard better excuses. :/
