I have mix feelings about Raahosh. On one hand, his heart is in the right place in terms of protecting his mate. On the other hand, I don’t like that he practically
forced Liz to accept the qwi (not sure of spelling as I listened to it) by putting it in her with her protest.
I like that Liz is strong-headed and keeps her ground, standing up for what she thinks is right. She’s bold and I just love her!! The patience they have for each other when
it comes to the bedroom and when Liz learns about what happened to Raahosh when he was younger
makes me blush. She throws slang over to him and him trying to understand what she is saying is both funny but understandably frustrating.

Barbarian Alien follows on directly from book one. Liz is sassy AF and I love her for her stubborn and mischievous ways, but I didn't vibe with some of the early content—consent is dubious at best, and that’s being generous. The romance is definitely one for fans of the fated mates, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and hurt/comfort tropes. Overall an enjoyable, quick read that does a good job of setting the foundation for the series whilst also having plenty of spice.

What It’s About: Picking up right where the previous volume left off, this story showcases Liz, who’s kidnapped by Raahosh after he resonates to her, leading to dire consequences when they return to the alien tribe.

Spice Level: It’s even better this time around, not only because Raahosh is, ahem, the biggest alien boy on the planet, if you get my drift, but because there’s a lot more anticipation this time around.

Realism: I think this was the best place to go after the first book, because it showcases what we as readers were all wondering. What do you do when your choice in relationships is taken away from you? Watching Liz go through the process from being unwilling to skeptical to accepting was a really nice way to deal with that idea.

Trope Alert: This one is all enemies to lovers.

Trigger Warnings: There’s still a fair amount of dubious consent going on in this one.
