I didn't realize this book was a prequel to the other two until the very ending. But it worked really well! I'm still a little confused by the ending....but I liked it nonetheless!
Spoiler I initially thought Persey was crazy Kimmie, but the timeline for that doesn't make sense. It also just doesn't make sense that Persey would do that! I guess Lincoln/Kevin/Abe/The Postman had a daughter and named her Kimmie in honor of his sister? Maybe book 4 will find Persey coming out of hiding from wherever she was during the first two books!

My full review can be found on the Epilie Aspie Chick blog!

I enjoy the #murdertrending series and was looking forward to this prequel, but it doesn't quite have the same magic as the first two books. They definitely tie to the original books, but it doesn't become entirely evident until the end.

this book wasn’t perfect, towards the middle i had a feeling i knew where the plot was going(and ended up correct), but it still was super entertaining.

i love escape rooms, so this was so entertaining to visualize all the puzzles & clues, so although this book was missing the social media aspect i loved from books 1&2, the escape room concept made up for it.

the last like 3 chaps or so WOWW i had figured the plot twists out, but didn’t connect them together so wow.
when i first read the synopsis for this book i was confused how it related to the first 2 books… but after finishing AHHHH i had to go back & look through the other books to try and connect all the dots in my head haha.

one thing i did not enjoy though was the author’s charming (annoying) use of including the antonym to the previous word in parentheses constantly. it was witty the first 2 times, but it got so boring so quickly. 1/3 of the time the word in the () didn’t even make sense grammatically if you were to insert it in the sentence which bothered me even more.

WOW ok so by a certain point i was getting suspicious of kevin, and i was wondering what persey’s involvement would turn out to be. but i didn’t even realize that they never gave any of her family member’s names

I luv luv luv the #murdertrending series and I adored this book. The plot twist was like... insane and I understand why it connects to the overall series now. I really hope there is another book that takes place in between #noescape and #murdertrending so we can have a clearer path for connection.

If you like things like Danganronpa or any sort of mystery death game, this is definitely a good read. The intricate thought that had to be put into creating these situations is so insane. I hope this series never ends.

This book series is such a guilty pleasure for me. Is it the best thing I've ever read? No.

Will I read everything that ever comes out in this series? Absolutely.

This book specifically was extra fun because of the escape room style plot. The puzzles themselves were diabolical and when you add in a murder subplot, it becomes so much more intriguing. If you're a fan of slashers, this is the series for you!
