I was wandering shelves at my local library and the cover and premise intrigued me. The cover and book description are wildly misleading. I regret not looking up reviews first. I only finished it to find out if it got better, it didn’t.

This book is full of racial stereotypes, including mischaracterization of the entire Arabic community. MMC was holier than thou and chauvinistic.

2 FMC’s - the ex-wife who was actually quite funny. And the jilted married side piece who OBVIOUSLY fell in love with MMC (eye roll)

Loose ends (from the mystery part) that were never tied up.

This book was listed as a thriller, I have no idea how. I barely even had to think while reading it.

I truly feel bad for how much I loathed this book. I should’ve dumped it the second I saw that it was written in 2019 yet was desperately racist.

Not as good as his usual books, it took a while to get into it. I liked the premise and it amused me that it came with recipes(too bad I'm a terrible cook).

Caleb was a great main character. I liked the New Orleans setting.

Nice easy read and interesting story. Bit too much food descriptions though, but that could be because I'm on a liquid diet and can't eat!

I can’t finish it because it’s so unrealistic. He’s not a cop. How can he carry a gun and kidnap people. I enjoyed the storyline about New Orleans and the food truck but the rest of it is unbelievable.

A good fast paced murder mystery book. The plot was okay  and some of the characters I didn’t like. My only issue is that I wish it was a lot longer as I really enjoyed reading it xx

The plot was not exactly believable, and the storyline was not always convincing. But Patterson ability to tell a story is marvelous. The ending saved the book.

Great summer beach read

This was a quick read. I love the connection to the food truck! I read it on the beach last weekend.
