Lucinda Riley had an incredible talent for writing family sagas that truly captivate. She wrote about a person's mistakes, whilst making the reader understand their reasoning and personality and describes time and place beautifully. Most important of all, her stories are completely believable and enjoyable.

A good summer read for someone, I guess. It just wasn't for me. I can't even pinpoint exactly what it was about this book but it just didn't do it for me. Maybe I'm being nit-picky, but the constant referring to Immy and Fred as "the little ones" just really, really irked me.

This was a good story with an array of characters. I'm glad Helena and William stayed together in the end! Liked how Alex was able to talk William into sticking with Helena!

By far my least favourite Lucinda Riley book so far. I couldn’t get into the perspective of the teenage boy at all.
