FINE I LIKE THIS SERIES ALRIGHT? I CAN'T SEEM TO STOP READING IT.

SOMEONE SEND HELP.

I'm all for not having guilty pleasures -- enjoy things as they are! Guilt has no place in pleasure! -- but these books are testing me. I can't unconditionally love them, in part because I find the characters to be somewhat flat, and it all feels like empty calories as far as reading goes (and I love historical romance unconditionally, SO IT'S NOT LIKE I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES LIGHT BOOKS CAN BE GOOD).

BUT, I finished the last one and immediately started this one and will probably read the fifth one immediately. I can't seem to stop. Is it the genre that's got a hold of me? Is it the fact that cons and heists are catnip to me? The moral ambiguity of the characters? The humor (I can't deny I find them funny)?

On the other hand, I also don't like Nick all that much -- he seems so very flat, and even Kate, who's inner world we explore more, feels like Jane Everywoman in an intense way that I dislike. I guess the problem is that I both love the tropes in these books, and the plots, but don't like the characters that much.

Then again, you can't really have plots like these with deep characters.

I AM SO AMBIVALENT ABOUT THESE BOOKS.

I do want to give a shout out the narrator Scott Brick, who certainly is part of the reason I keep reading these. His voice is v. good.

I really love this series of books. It's so much fun to follow Kate and Nick on their convoluted scams and cons and watch how they deal with their attraction to each other. A great fast paced read. This one left quite a cliffhanger... So I can't wait for the next one to come out!

Fox and O'Hare may be my favorite fictional combination since Harry, Ron and Hermione. Yeah the plots are sensational and over the top, I don't care. I love these guys. Give me more.

So many great twists as always, but an even better one at the end! I can't wait for the next book!

Fantastic Fox and O'Hare story with twists...

It seems this time like their plot gets overturned constantly, but Nick never lets that stop him. The Scam is a great read but ends on a drastic cliffhanger. Be ready to wait for the next book or buy it immediately, depending when you start this one!

This felt a little less put together than the first two. Hoping the next ones will be better.

Best one in the series. But be forewarned... This one leaves you on a cliffhanger. Glad I have #5 ready to go!
