It's like comfort food in book form. Just cheesy and sweet.

This book started out so well. The first couple of chapters hyped me up for an entertaining shifter story, and then it just... wasn't. It was just so ridiculous (not in a funny way) and frustrating and at times downright boring.

The setting is Germany but didn't feel like it at all -the only way you could tell we're not in the USA is the occasional of German phrases (and judging by the reviews, even that was not done properly). Following the dialogue felt like trying to follow a rubber ball ricocheting around an empty room. And if that wasn't enough, often there was one fact that was being reiterated in many different ways in the same paragraph.

The drama and insecurities of the MCs felt fabricated and totally unrelated to their actual characters. But even that would have been okay, if it wasn't going on and on and ON.

By ~80ish% I was so bored. Even when stuff FINALLY started to happen, it didn't manage to hold my attention, I just wanted it to end. The thing I wanted to see  resolved most, aka the non-romantic part of the plot, was NOT resolved in this book, and that was the final straw - I definitely won't be continuing the series.

Origin is the first book I've read by A.J. Sherwood, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. This one had action, magic, dragons, hotness, emotion, and so much more. This story really digs deep into the story of the dragons and magic as a whole, but it is so much more than that, and I found myself falling down the rabbit hole that this is book. It pulled me in, and I didn't want to leave. Until I read the final word, I loved it. I just wish there was more. I'm excited to see what is going to be in part two. Will we find out more of the mystery? Will we find out who is mated to whom? I need so much more, which means, I'm anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. 4.5 stars and this is one you definitely need to read!

Dragon are coming back

A clan of dragon in need of mage to save the survival of their species. 500 hundred years ago dragons and mages were one. In the past 500 hundred the mage went missing so to found one in their hometown finally give them hope to their clan, and to their leader it gave him love!!!
I gave 3 stars because it's a new world and it's take a lot of the book to just adjust and put the story in perspective. The history of the past, the what they can do or not, why it's like this, and who is who, description of Everything ... it took too much of the book and not enough clue on the story itself with the kidnapper. Love story and emotion of the MC are perfect. Love them.

OK, I'm like 83% through this book and I'm just not sure if I can finish it. I WANT to. But cheese on cracker, it is dragon...erm, dragging.

I'm pretty sure in the last review I did I said that there was little to no world building, welllllll totally opposite day on this one. There's almost TOO much. And I get it. But also, the dragon king dude...he's honestly the most boring dragon or king I've read about. Granted he's going up against Constantine from Donna Grant's series, but I digress.

I really love these two authors. I freaking LOVED the Unholy Trifecta series. I just can't seem to get into this one. Although the human of the pair is a freaking delight and the supporting cast is hilarious. Maybe I'll just wait for the next book in the series to drop and power through the last 30 mins of this one.

Like all the other AJ Sherwood books I've read, this was light and fun. However, this one was overly long and basically insta-love which isn't my favorite trope.

This book passed all my expectations. The story, the characters, the setting, and the narration was perfect! I loved this book and cannot wait to read the rest in the series.
