Oh Morgan. Morgan Morgan Morgan. This girl is characterised so well by Tiernan. In this particular book in the series, as a reader we truly become enveloped in her confusing and windswept world. Her emotions are high, dipping between various degrees of ecstasy and betrayal, linked with various people.

I particularly like this book in the series as Hunter comes back. I can't help it, I love Hunter. And Sky, she is brought into the fold a lot more too. I remember reading this as a teen and wanting to be her, and I still kind of want to be her now.

The reviews for these books are difficult to write as there are so many in the series, and I want to avoid any spoilers. Let's just say that again there is another ending of heightened tension for this book in the series, and it definitely leaves you wanting more.

Evil forces are after Morgan, forces connected with a dark wave of magick.
---------------------

This book got waaaaaaaaaaayyyy better. Lots of more action, more questioning (in a good way), and overall a much better improvement to the slow-paced predecessors in the series. I think that I'm starting to like the potential that this story has. We got to explore not only Morgan and her current coven, but the new characters introduced in the past books, as well as the new coven that surged with ex-members of Cal's coven.

SpoilerI also liked that in the end, there seems to be a possible future reconciliation of Bree and Morgan, I liked them as friends, not as enemies.

Been reading these books in spans of hours!! Seems like I have nothing better to do... which I don't.

Oooh eee. This has always been one of my favorite books in the series and that hasn’t changed. The pacing and plot really picks up, we get way more insight into Wicca, and some light gets shed on the whole dynamic of Hunter, Sky, Selene, and Cal. I honestly don’t have many complaints about this book at all. I loved it. The writing starts to gain some maturity too.

Yay! Hunter and Skye have shown up. I especially became thankful for the fun bits of BoS's at the beginning of chapters in this book. Flying through my reread, these are easy to pick up and binge right through in one sitting.

Book #188 in the year 2020

By discovering that Hunter is really still alive, Morgan starts to have more and more questions and Cal is showing sides of himself never seen before. Scary Stuff. In the end, Morgan realizes her life is in danger and who her true friends really are.

I hate that you can't do half stars. This was more of a 3.5 for me. Although things did pick up in the last quarter of the book so well see what happens in the next one.
