i saw a video talking about this book and saying that yozo was just a spoiled child and being dramatic, and i froze looking at the screen, i think reading a book without being able to understand things deeply is useless and i don't think many people understand no longer human deeply.
i genuinely love this book, the amount of paragraphs and sentences i underlined reading this book is craaazy. i am not good at expressing myself and i felt like my thoughts that i didn't know how to express were written down. i dont know if it is right to relate to this book -especially when it is such a misogynist one- , but i relate to most of the things. like a lot.

Although there were aspects of the book I found somewhat thought provoking, it unfortunately wasn't my cup of tea. It felt mostly autobiographical and I can't say I'm very fond of Osamu Dazai's life choices. I generally enjoy darker, more emotional books, but perhaps the writing style (or the fact that it's translated from Japanese) made me feel quite detached, but maybe that was intentional...
