This book all round was okay.
I found the character we were following to be interesting. This book mainly centres around his feelings of alienation from society and how much that impacts how he sees people. Due to his lack of understanding of them, leading to some horrible takes on humans (especially women).

He seems to have a tendency to catastrophise things in his life which leads to him making some not great decisions- which in the end bring catastrophe to himself and the people in his life.

All around he is a very interesting character, however it wasn’t enough to drive the book along for me. I found it difficult to finish as the lack of plot made it hard for me to want to know what was happening next as by halfway in the book I felt like I had gained enough of an understanding of the character that it was no longer enough to drive me on.

All around relatively interesting, but at points due to no plot I lost interesting.

It very well shows the mind of someone with mental illness works, how hard it get happiness. It's also extreme amazing how a book published so long ago its still so relevant to this day
