This was a rollercoaster for me and I almost DNF’d it when the sleuth went off about needing to lose weight at her size 12. I thought we had gotten past that after almost no mention of weight, just “be more active”, in book 3. Missed opportunity with the bees and be if you ask me.
She changed her tune tho, I guess the murder was enough of a plot for the author to let that go and it wasn’t mentioned again until near the end when it was more like she’s fine as she is.
Since this whole thing is about bees and a famous actress the title is also weird.
I really enjoy the sleuth, minus the fat phobia, and the town and it’s characters. But I think I’m done with this series.

I enjoy the Seaside Cafe mystery series mostly for its beach town setting and the likable characters. These are fun reads especially when I can't actually be at the beach. Everly is likable, the mysteries aren't too dark and there are many funny moments.

This is an entertaining series with interesting characters and a mystery that kept me guessing. I'm glad I picked this as a series to binge read in 2021.

There's something comforting about reading the same story over and over again. It's a little tedious but comforting nonetheless.

I did wish for some new developments, though.
