In this last installment the flawed, main character, Bunny found himself in deeper trouble than ever before. There were some good twists along the way and the story line kept me on the edge of my seat until the unpredictable ending.

3.5 stars rounded up.

To be quite frank, I had to stop reading this book about 33% through because I was upset at everything going on (most probably brought on by work stress making me overly emotional, I don't know), which was incredibly annoying because I wanted to know what was going to happen.

I picked it back up maybe a few weeks later with a slight emotional distance, but thankfully didn't affect my enjoyment of the overall story.

Which was great.

The pacing was fairly cracking in spite of the random flash backs. McDonnell's flash backs seemed to seamlessly move the story along and I loved the tidbits here and there
Spoilerabout Bunny's past (is this a spoiler? I don't know, but shall hedge my bet)
.

At the end of the book, there was a note from McDonnell to read [b:Angels in the Moonlight|35967997|Angels in the Moonlight|Caimh McDonnell|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1502266632s/35967997.jpg|57529804] before reading this book and I fairly swore. Though I've started the prequel and have already concluded that I'm glad that I didn't.

Lacking in pace and amusement when compared to the previous titles in the series. The mental issues bunny is suffering are ill explained and seem unwieldy as a plot device.

A couple of laugh out loud moments and still intriguing characters ensure I’ll look forward to the next book but a definite downturn in quality in comparison to what has gone before.
