Book #13: In my opinion, I’d give this a 4/5. I just have a thing for Katie Cotugno. Loved her 99 days - a great young adult read/ doesn’t make me miss the girl drama. The only thing I wish, is that I read this sequel closer to reading the first one so that I could remember the details of Molly and Gabe’s summer better. Loved how the reunion turned out between the two. My take away: be who you are, those that are worthy will recognize it and that’s who you deserve #boom

Sequel to 99 Days. What I liked about this one vs the first book is that Molly is realizing she needs to be herself, not some likable version she thinks people want. Either way, these characters still have a lot of growing up to do.

So, this was my first audiobook listen since joining scribd and the narrator was fine and good at the different characters voices, not the best but not the worst but down to the actual book content. I did enjoy this book and I was so excited to read it after reading 99 days a couple of years ago- I wouldn't say I was let down it was just okay. I wanted Molly and Gabe to end up together after the last book so I was satisfied with the ending. They both had grown a lot as people and I'm glad that neither of them cheated on their partners as that was a big issue with the previous book. However, there were a few things that bothered me with this book:
1. When visiting London, Molly really asked Ian if England had ketchup in a fish and chip restaurant and he says that no they don't have that in England and Molly is all like oo I love how Ian knows each countries customs it's so sexy bla bla bla. Like no. We do have ketchup in England literally everywhere and there would've definitely been some in a fish and chip restaurant!
2. Another thing that pissed me off is after Imogen and Molly fell out and made up, Molly apologises for 'pulling all the same molly shit' and Imogen forgives her. However, Molly wasn't even doing that it was Imogen that constantly spoke about Gabe and Molly's current relationships and constantly brought it up. Molly didn't once.
3. Also the same with Gabe, he placed pretty much the entire blame on Molly for what happened between them and I felt like he owed it to Molly to be a bit more sorry when she revealed that she'd been pregnant with his child and had to go through an abortion alone.
4. Lastly, not an issue but what was with the repeated mention of a popstar Sabrina? I take it Katie will be writing another book about this person as if not it was a bit random to have her mentioned so many times.
It was fine, I'm glad I read it and I'm glad Molly and Gabe are together.

I feel about this book the way I thought I felt about the first one the first time around. I loved it so much and the characters were done so well.

I didn't realize this was a sequel but followed it just fine. The main character, Molly, annoyed me as we were supposed to like her and feel bad for her when she is a serial cheater. Even after she had cheated twice previously, she was pining over her ex while on vacation with her new boyfriend. Hard to like a book when you dislike the protagonist.

Pretty good! I wish Patrick was in Gabe’s position tbh but it’s whatev, I love molly she is so incredibly relatable and I love cotugnos ability to make characters vulnerable to the reader.
