Xenomorphs gone wild! This one is slick with acid blood, oily white blood, flourescent green blood, and red blood. One more book in the trilogy.

Scarier, more gruesome more horrifying and more expansive then the last but the characters and dialog are still coated with cheese and the constant will they/won’t they die moments get tiresome.

This was an exciting and gripping tale on an epic scale. Thankfully many of the questions arising from book 1 are answered in this one, particularly pertaining to who is leaning the invasion. There’s some brilliant character development with only one exception. I can’t give away more without revealing spoilers, so I won’t.
I enjoyed this one very much and it has certainly built upon the first book. I can’t wait for the final book of the trilogy.

I wish I could like this more, it was just really difficult to follow. I am glad that they had a review of the last book as that was hard to follow too.

Although this was definitely the second book in a trilogy, I'm very interested in what it set up. I'm ready for the big climactic end to the series. My only complaint would be to give the Predators more personalization, but again I imagine that's what the last book is about

A good solid instalment. This time it is concentrating a lot more in the Aliens - but it is still very much a human led story. The rage are invading and have unleashed their weapon - weaponised xenomorphs.
All the main players from the last book are back and their stories continued.
Nothing ground breaking, but enjoyable.

Typical middle-volume holding-pattern problems in that this entire book is a gigantic set-up for a doozy of a finale. We hope. It doesn't add much to what we already know, but simply moves the various pieces around the Human Sphere chessboard. Still, probably a textbook-perfect example of a well-developed, plotted, and characterised trilogy. Blistering pace, jaw-dropping revelations (pun intended), nuanced characters, taut and often lyrical writing, fantastic attention to detail and the smaller moments. Oh, and acid-, blood-, vomit- and semen-drenched. For what is a good old horror without romance? The Expanse, please take note.
