A heavy coming of age YA story that explores religious bigotry and breaking toxic cycles while facing extreme hardship. This book was both heartbreaking and infuriating but didn't impact me as much as others claimed it would.

This was a book I went into without any expectations and it was great! Love the characters, the setting in Tennessee bible belt was new for me so very interesting. I think the author did a great job of letting the reader experience the struggles of our three main characters.
