Teardrop by Lauren Kate

Eureka should be more scared of me bitch slapping her than she should be of it raining every time she cries. And who names their car "Magda" that's horrible. Her best friend is a canonical asswipe, too. That scene where he says "never have I ever tried to kill myself" knowing that she had attempted suicide is entirely horrible. And if I have to hear about her teacher's "silver forest of chest hair" one more time, I'll throw hands or barf.

Teardrop, it was ok...

See, it was a fairly thick book, and I don't think it needed to be. After I had read about half of it, I thought back and wondered "what of importance has actually happened so far?" I did read the entire book, but it wasn't a lot of action or excitement.... I can't remember the exact phrase in the synopsis of this book, but it was something along the lines of "heart stopping romance." Um... wheeeennn?? There was... there was a kiss... I guess two, but there certainly was not any heart pounding moments.

The characters were alright. I liked them a fair amount, they each had their own individual characters. I loved the twins. Cat is going to get herself raped one day, though, and it will be her fault. The ending was a bit confusing, and I'm not sure if it happened everywhere or just there. Also, does that mean that only those, what, five characters are protected? What about Cat's parents?

The writing was fine, shrug-able. I felt that I missed some things, like, time would just go by, and suddenly the next chapter was next week.

It seemed there was a lot of building up to- to something without a particular climax. A lot of things that happened could have happened a lot sooner or not at all....

There was a scene with the two main characters and a tree, but what was the point of that scene? Nothing important was discussed, there was an emptiness right where a "heart pounding" moment could have been, and indeed, why even go to the museum at all? What was the point in that part of the story? I'm trying to think of some relevance, but I can't remember anything.
That was the way with a lot of the book, and scenes that dragged could have been quashed into a book far smaller. Have you heard of the Deltora Quest books? They are tiny one-hundred page books, and I don't believe I have read anything with more action or more adventure or more... must-find-out-what-happens-ness. If Teardrop could be shortened [considerably], it would be better.

Hm, I can't say particularly recommend this book to anyone, but I can't dissuade you either. It's a book you'll have to take a chance on, I think, but with so many excellent books out there, is taking a chance really worth it?

As usual, I went into this book not knowing anything about it other than being a fan of the author. I really enjoy the story. I thought it started out pretty slowly, but as I got further into it, it definitely got better. I love Ander and Brooks, and do like Eureka as well. The concept of the story is really unique. I can’t wait to read the sequel!

I was amazingly surprised by this book. I've always loved Lauren Kate's books, but Teardrop just gave me that special feeling. The concept is unique (I've never read anything like it) and the writing was very beautiful and poetic.

When I read the synopsis of this book awhile back I didn't think I would like this book, but since I loved the Fallen series, I decided to give it a try. I was so surprised! This book was so interesting and is a take on the mysterious lost city of Atlantis. While all of the obscure names was a little much, I really enjoyed the plot and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

The only good thing about this book is the cover and the title.
Lo único bueno que tiene este libro es la portada y el título.

This was such a good book! My favorite character by far was Ander and the chemistry him and Eureka share is undeniable. such a good book and I totally recommend reading this!
