What would you do if all the washing machines at your work suddenly spewed out what looked like a magical vortex, leaving nothing but a watery mess behind? Yeah, you'd probably think you hallucinated too.
But when the Doctor shows up, we all know that something is going down – and that humanity will likely need his intervention to make it through.
Review:
We all have a favorite Doctor, right? For me, it will always be the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant for the twin). So obviously, when I realized a graphic novel series was available, I had to dive right in. This way, I can pretend that his run lasts a little longer. Just a bit.
Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Vol. 1: Revolutions of Terror may be a long title, but you have to admit, it does catch your eye. Granted, I never would have guessed that the revolutions of terror were at least partially referring to a laundromat...but that's Doctor Who for you, right?
Revolutions of Terror is a quick and fun read. It introduces us to a new human protagonist – Gabriella Gonzalez, and I must admit, I love her. Her backstory is pretty relatable, as she deals with the familial pressure to do a million things at once (and none of those things are what she wants, of course).
As for the artwork...it's fantastic. Look at that cover! I love those colors. They're, well, fun! But they also fit the overall aesthetic for Doctor Who, so I'm never going to complain about that. The creatures of this plot totally stole the show, though, and when you read it, you'll see why I say that.
I will have to try and get my hands on the rest of this series...and maybe the other graphic novel stories for the other Doctors. We'll see how I feel.

3 stars. I'm kinda disappointed in this. Being a huge fan of the 10th Doctor in particular, I feel like this should've been so much better.
The artwork is great, David Tennant looks like David Tennant so that's a plus but that's where the positives start. The stories weren't that interesting and the companion wasn't that well done. I love that she was a minority, because hell yes to diversity but Gabby felt like two different people from the first story arc to the second. I liked her a bit more in the first but she was still so terribly underdeveloped. I would've much preferred a companion we are already familiar with.
My main issue was that The Doctor didn't feel like The Doctor. I love what David brought to the character in the show and while there were a few times where his personality shined through, but for the most part, I didn't get that here. The Doctor has so much personality and is such a really well rounded character but I don't think that was able to come through.
Overall, it wasn't a terrible start to the 10th Doctor's adventures but it left a lot to be desired.

The main characters in this book, especially this characterisation of the Doctor, are very likeable, and it's fun to see him work together with this new companion, who's full of curiosity.
One of my gripes with the second arc in this book, however, was with the lettering, as I found the "hand-written" style of Gabby's inner monologue a little off-putting and found myself skipping it at times. Perhaps I'm also not a big fan of the diary-style narration, but I can see how that's a me-problem.

I like the companion, Gabby. The story was interesting. I wish Gabby's handwriting was more legible in her sketchbook though.

Two fun and exciting Doctor Who adventures. I enjoyed the concepts of both stories, and the pacing was excellent.

This collects the first 5 issues of Titan Comic's new Tenth Doctor series and wow, am I ever impressed. This series is following a version of Ten from somewhere between "Journey's End" and "The End of Time", newly alone after having left Donna Noble. I wasn't too keen on his new companion, Gabriella Gonzalez, a young girl with a boring, average life (in typical companion fashion) at first but after the narration switched to her point of view in the form of a letter to her friend Cindy I began to really like her. This book is a really nice read. The art is amazing and the dialogue captures Tennant's voice so well that I found myself unintentionally reading the Doctor's speech in his voice about halfway through the first issue. I will definitely be reading the next issue when it comes out on January 7th. For now though, we're moving on to Titan's Eleventh and Twelfth series.
