Not a fan. I think the movie will be much better.

Really enjoyed it, especially the main character's determination.

I've had this book in my bookshelf for about two years now. And I just pick it up because the movie is coming out and I want to watch it. It's also been a while since I read a dystopian novel, so it's nice getting into it again. I was kind of hesitant to pick the book up because I've heard mixed things about it. But I flew right through it. It was so fast paced and has a really nice flow. I quite like it. Rick Yancey did not disappoint me. But I get why some people don't like it. There's nothing much happening in this 400+ pages book. I think it's more of a set up for the sequels. It also gets boring at times, but I could deal with that. Not the worst. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

This was an entertaining book with decent characters. One negative thing about it would have to be the POV. It was all over the place at first (First person Cassie, First Person Ben, Third person Evan and then third person Sammy) and the author didn't tell you when the perspective changed. But it got easier to follow as the book progressed. There aren't many books about aliens anymore and this was an interesting take on it. I am looking forward to the sequels and the movies.

The 5th wave is one of those books that you take longer to read not because it is boring but because it have so many emotions that before you could even get over prior the other comes( at least it happen to me). This books gives a great and honest details about human emotion in the post-apocalyptic world.
This book made me ask questions like Are we alone? If they are Do they know about us? I really love this book I can't want for Infinite Sea . ;)

So. I have to admit that I saw the movie first and really enjoyed it. But after reading the book I realized they really watered the movie down and the book actually told us a lot more than the movie. I have been a fan of this author for quite some time and o really feel that he has a unique voice, and original stories that he tells. Although many of told invasion stories not everyone tells them with a unique spin that can be used in a classroom to possibly breakdown human nature.

I really believe this is a good story. I can see why some people could be upset this is in a young adult genre, but you don't have to read it, and I don't have to allow my daughter to read it until she's older.
