Simple and linear.

I liked this story well enough. I suppose the intricate movie makes the book seem super simple. Nevertheless, it’s a good story for children.

Read this whole series as a kid and loved it. "Always winter, never Christmas."

Reading this again as an adult is just as enchanting as the first time I read it as a child. You can't help but fall in love with Narnia and it's inhabitants...

Ok, I’m struggling to put into words how I felt about this book.
I truly enjoyed the 1st book of this series, The Magician’s Nephew, but I felt this book fell flat.
Both the story and the characters felt underdeveloped, and in a sense, felt forced, as if Lewis was trying too hard.

Absolutely fantastic! It's no surprise why this tale has withstood the test of time. It's imaginative, magical, brilliant, and beautifully written.

I don't believe I'd ever actually read this before, and though I've seen the movie and understood the basic parts of the plot, it has been a very long time. That said, I was pretty surprised at how fast paced the plot went, there wasn't very much actual character development or world building. It's very much a children's book, and by those standards it's a fantastic one. The symbology is pretty clear cut, and pretty entertaining.

That said, I'm not a child, so I didn't particularly love reading it. But I look forward to reading it to my kids someday.
