Holy moly. This volume has a lot of death. The author has no issue culling off the masses, that's for sure. I honestly wish that Calder was less of a cinnamon roll when it comes to his asshole of a brother, Casey. I'm pretty sure if Calder didn't allow himself to be pushed around, then a lot of deaths could've been avoided! That said, I totally understand why he is like that with Casey, it's a sad story. That creepy alien monster thing that's taking over Isaac is totally CREEPY AF. I think what makes this artwork so fitting to the story is that it gives it so much more of a rough/creepy feel. The details on the scary faces are pretty gruesome. Also not surprising that a lot happened in this volume, but still super invested! You can read my full review on my blog.

While I understood that this story would always be dark, this installment bothered me. It is starting to feel more and more like the characters of color are just there to further the storylines of the white characters and then die off dramatically. The increase in trans representation feels like it's just there to show the antagonist's villainy rather than give well-rounded characters. Bit by bit I'm losing interest in the survivors.
