I’ve been a huge fan of Caitlin for a long time and would like to choose natural burial when I die because of her inspiration, so it’s shocking it took me so long to read her book. It was engaging, enjoyable, and thought provoking and listening to her narrate the audio book added to the experience.

I do not read non-fiction and I really enjoyed this book. It made me really think about some hard topics and now I want to rebel against the corporate death industry!

I absolutely adore Caitlin’s narration! You can tell how much passion she has for the subject, which makes the listening experience even better. This is probably my most listened to audiobook ever. I only started getting more into reading last year, but even before that, I still listened to this book on a yearly basis and the pattern continues. I have lost track of how many times I have listened to this book. Caitlin’s passion for public death education is inspiring. I have watched her Ask a Mortician series on YouTube for years and the passion she has for her work is compelling. There are a couple of tough topics discussed in this book, and even though I have listened to it more times than I can count, sometimes those topics still hit close to home and I have a hard time listening, however Caitlin handles the topics with the care and dignity they require. I definitely recommend this book and also her YouTube channel to anyone even remotely interested in the inner workings of the death industry or what happens to the body after death.

I learned so much about the business of dying. I’ll need to create a death plan so my family knows not to use embalming fluids. I wanna decompose the most environment friendly way possible.
