And no amount of of Harry monologuing about how he knows it’s wrong to be in love with a 15 year old changes the fact that he was still in love with a 15 year old
And Joel Dicker is trying to pass this relationship off as a genuine mutual love story?? I can’t

I feel like most of the characters were these stereotype/charicature mesh, with absolutely absurd details about some of the side characters. In the end, all of the twists and turns at the end weren't enough to convince me, as I felt it was just taking too long.

Honestly, I understand the idea. It was a great idea. The plot is good... But oh men, it was so long. I am sure the mysterious death of Nola could have been solved way faster than that. I don't understand why, all book long, we had a suspect then no suspect then too many suspects, etc etc. We were circling around everything for 800 pages. I'm sure I would have loved how it was written (between present and past from the author's POV) normally but not this time. It was only confusing and eternal.
If someone wants a recommendation from me, I will say that there are other great mystery books before this one...

I don't know what to add. Pages 0-300 made me burn with rage. I thought it was boring, and by that point, I was reading it to destroy it in my review. I was wasting precious precious time. But the rest of the book... I was hooked.
We dive deep into the minds of the people of the town of Aurora, the sacrifices they've made, and the ones they are still willing to make. I thought the psychology behind each character was a bit predictive, and then I was proved that it was not. I thought I knew who the culprit was, and what were their motives - but I was wrong.
In other words, it was a fascinating tale.
This book is just improbable enough that I believe it could still happen today.
