A lot of plot to unpack but I’m so invested in it. The dynamics between all the characters are intricate and really suck you in to this world. Loved how the fmc didn’t instantly buy into her being a fated mate and how firm she was in standing her ground. I think this book did an amazing job in setting the stage for this series.

I liked this alien romance, especially the world-building. I'm looking forward to the rest in the series. I'm hoping I like the romance between the other characters more than I did Lothan and Ada.

The reason I didn't give it a full five stars is because I didn't like what Ada did. Lothan is willing to give up everything and die for her, and I feel like it takes forever for her to be committed to him. I know it may be a more realistic portrayal of a woman thrust into an alien culture, but I just didn't like how long it took her to get on board.

There are a lot of spicy scenes, but the alien Lothan isn't that different anatomically than a human other than sharp teeth and skin that can change color.
