Read for class: EDUC603
Rating more like 2.5 stars
The concept is great and some information was interesting to learn. The author doesn’t drag out his thoughts which is nice but this is REALLY focused toward business/corporation “talk.”

I was seeking some internal motivation from a work slump. I got that, and some practical nuggets for my job, itself. The main idea of this book is that extrinsic motivation doesn't accomplish what we want..... in the classroom, in the workplace, in parenting, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who is a leader in an organization, or people wanting a bit of personal awareness.
I listened to this on audiobook, though, and wish I hadn't. For starters, there were a few things I would have liked to reread and study longer. Second, the author (he reads his own book) reads the book in a condescending, sing-song manner. Just buy the book, people!

I read this book after reading Carol Dweck's Mindset and found them to complement each other well. I look forward to trying out at work his findings on how to motivate others. As usual, its a book that makes you think but the ultimate impact is in practicing some of the techniques explored.
Time will tell if this is a worth a second reading.

I feel as if this book could've been shortened in a few paragraphs, but it was still an interesting read to see what will be the motivation for the next generation in the workforce.
