Curto e algo superficial.

Quite disappointed that Capote didn’t manage to finish this. It’s quite an admirable effort, with splashes of pure brilliance, in which mostly occur in the last 30 pages. Characters are interesting but not fully formed or developed, the story’s turn of events are wildly inconsistent, and Capote overdoes it many times in indulging himself with small details, almost to the point of exhaustion. Still, not a bad effort in the slightest, and I enjoyed reading this.

It was okay. I feel like it was underdeveloped and that the plot was all over the place. I thought the ending was clever tho.

A short (3 hr) audio book. I did not know this was Capote’s debut novel, left unpublished till after his death. He didn’t want it published, it wasn’t finished. It ended abruptly. But the brilliant writing was still there.
