This series is turning into everything I wanted in a zombie apocalypse. Joe Mckinney has raised the bar on the horror/zombie genre.

What's more fun that a couple of catagory 5 hurricanes, followed by zombie infestation and no help from the government? I was looking for something to hold me over while waiting for the next season of walking dead to start, when I lucked into this fast paced action packed zombie tale. I couldn't put it down.

Decent zombie book. Not a lot to it, lots of eye rolling, but still enjoyable enough to keep reading. Liked the strong female lead and her relationship with her husband

Another really good zombie story from McKinney. This one is a quick read and may seem a little slow at first but it really picks up and has lots of action and suspense. Lots of great characters and you find yourself really rooting for some of them. This is the 3rd book in the Dead City series but it seems to be out of time sequence. The first book starts with the zombie outbreak. The second book is 2 years later (I believe), but this third book is back at the beginning of the outbreak again. All characters are different from book to book so order doesn't really matter but I was a bit confused when I started reading it. Highly recommend this book if you are a lover of the zombie genre.

2.5 stars. I mean, it was okay I guess. The setup of the hurricanes was interesting, but the mechanism of the zombie-plague was glossed over something fierce. The rest of the book felt like it belonged on screen - and it wasn't much more than a very standard action thriller with cliched heroic moments, generic characters, and the ultra-predictable ending.
