I listened to the Audiobook read by Jason Reynolds; whom I would listen read the phone book because his voice is so magnificent.

There is so much American history that I have just now realized is completely whitewashed. There was so much I didn't know!

I thoroughly recommend this book for anyone looking for a quick glance into the decisions that shaped America into the land it is now. I'm looking forward to reading Ibram X. Kendi's verison of Stamped as I'm sure it goes into much fuller detail.

This book just became one of my favorites and should be read by all; a condensed informational book based on facts and truths which brings light on racism, how it still exists because of views/ideologies of so many have not changed since the founding of this country.

Jason Reynold’s narration made this a delight to listen to. I really enjoyed reading this (listening to it) immediately after Kendi’s Stamped. This “remix” reminded me of key events, people and arguments that I really wanted to internalize. I think it’s worth it to read them both.

This was fantastic. The audiobook was very well narrated. The book itself was easy to understand and make great points. Although it is a YA book, I believe it is perfect for adults. The book didn’t feel like a YA book at all. Facts are just facts.
