Can these three kids, armed with a wooden sword, Marie’s intelligence, Gaston’s fortitude, Claudette’s stinky feet, and a pug dog named Valiant, survive in the wilderness and defeat the giant? Of course they can, but not in the ways they might have expected.

I'm glad this genre is getting some attention and I'm glad to see the quality of graphic novels have improved. What a great way to reach so many readers. It's also fun to see how the brain has to switch gears from reading books to graphic novels - it does require you to read them differently!
Claudette is a fun, new heroine. She's brave, she's brash, she's tough, but she's also a great friend. Watch her with her friend and brother face the baby-feet-eating giant!

I enjoyed the story and the illustrations. Generally a good novel, though a few things were left a bit unexplained. All in al, I had a good time.

This was fun. The main character was annoying but I like the other two.

Pre-read before giving to an 8 year-old. A great, plucky, fearless heroine!

This is a funny, fabulous take of a brave little girl who just wants to become a giant slayer. She, along with her best friend (who wants to become a professional princess) and her little brother (a soon to be chef/greatest swordmaker in the world) journey on a quest to defeat the baby-feet-eating giant that once terrorized their small town.

A fun, fast-paced adventure, filled with giants, magic, humor, and even some culinary tips.

I was instantly pulled in by this cast of characters. Claudette dreams of being a monster slayer and isn't afraid to bend the rules. Her brother, Gaston, isn't quite as brave, but has a real talent in the culinary arts and is loyal to the end. Claudette's best friend, Marie, aspires to be a princess and is always quick with a plan when the situation calls for it. And of course there's the ever reliable, Valiant, the canine sidekick.

This story is full of fun and adventure. There's a variety of adversaries including the Apple Hag and the Mad River King as well as the target of the children's quest, the baby-feet-eating giant.

One thing I really loved about this book is that despite Claudette's blood-thirsty nature, most of the problems are actually solved without violence. There is negotiation, outsmarting, and not seeking out problems where there aren't any. The book does a great job pulling the reader in, then demonstrating other problem solving techniques.

The artwork and dialogue pair nicely and keeps the story dynamic. Loved the expressions and various character designs. There's quite a bit of humor built into the illustrations, even in the background and in the peripherals, which made it even more entertaining.

A great start to a fun series. Perfect for those looking for an unconventional adventure.

Claudette has always been a fighter, aspiring to slay monsters just like her father. When she hears stories about the giant that was once scared away from their village, Claudette knows this is her chance to become a famous warrior by killing it. She tricks her friend Marie and her little brother into accompanying her and soon they are off! But this adventure will be more than Claudette bargained for!

Likeably flawed, spirited characters and full-color artwork make this a graphic novel you shouldn't miss. It's a fun adventure story and I'm hoping there will be more of Claudette, Gaston, and Marie! I'd hand it to fans of Bone and Rapunzel's Revenge, also full-color adventure tales.

Augh, fantastic. I think I probably enjoyed Dragons Beware more, but that doesn't make this less entertaining.
