Wow! I am so glad that we finally get Sessah’s book!! All I wanted this whole series was for him to be happy. He’s the sweetest cinnamon roll on the ice planet. I loved seeing his patience and kindness for Sam. This book had a lot of intrigue and adventure in it too!

It’s an odd day when I side-eye a girl for choosing not to sleep with the 7ft blue, horned barbarian alien with a tail. Oh my how times have changed.

It feels weird reading the sex life of a kid u watched grow up. That said, I did enjoy this book. It was exciting, things happened, and Sessah was a really great character! It's really nice to finally get a dude who's chill.

I thought Sam's secret would be that she's some mercenary or smth hot. Idk why. So sad.

A kind of unexpected pair, but I liked reading Dixon's reasoning for it (essentially she felt Sam as a character needed a guy who had some highly adept emotional intelligence and that just ruled out all the remaining characters from the island lol). Their relationship is really sweet and I loved Sessah and Sam throughout the whole book. I honestly did not *love* the introduction of the random violent man from outer space, and it felt kind of out of place in this series (it felt a little bit like the earlier parts of Ice Planet Barbarians than the latter half of the much more gentle Icehome books), but everything else balanced it out. Also, random violent man is disposed of relatively quickly so it could have been worse.
