Provided wonderful insight on the tumultuous and complicated relationship between Elizabeth and Margaret throughout their live. This book makes the reader think about the shocking relationships behind the scenes of what the public sees.

Rating: 4/5 stars

From one of the leading biographers of celebrity and the monarchy, Elizabeth & Margaret is a dual biography chronicling the unique relationship between Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Princess Margaret.

I’m a huge fan of Royal family info and biographies, and this was super interesting and extremely informative! A lot of the content will be familiar if you watch THE CROWN, but the book offers a lot more depth and some additional facts not found in the show. I also particularly enjoyed the focus on Elizabeth and Margaret’s relationship, which was close but extremely complex and unique—towards the end I thought the book focused a bit more heavily on Margaret, but she’s a fascinating figure so I certainly didn’t mind!

Recommended to anyone, but especially if you like: the Royal family; dual biographies; stories of complex women.

CW: Some discussion of alcoholism/drug abuse and implied suicide attempts.
