at  the beggining i was like "wowwww lets go  rock and roll" but then i was like "this   pretentious  people can never shut up" like yes i know this is a interview but still ... i was so annoyed with everyone...

Camila, Daisy and Karen deserve waaaayyyyy better.......

Hoping that the series is better tho

Enjoyed the narrative technique of the novel — characters recounting events in an interview, engaging in dialogue with the interviewer.

I was impressed with how Jenkins Reid’s wrote her characters’ dialogue so conversationally. It was convincing and effortless.

I liked the stark discrepancies and contradictions between characters when recounting events. They were all unreliable in that way and I like how the story leaves the truth unclear.

I have a love/hate relationship with novels that are about music. It’s the same dissatisfaction I feel when watching cooking shows. You can describe it and show it to me all you want but it’s not in my mouth.

I consumed this novel via audiobook and really loved that there was a full cast. It was like I was listening to a play on the radio. It was so emotive and artistically done. Arguably one of the best audiobook narrations I’ve heard.

I found the ending of the band sudden. We all knew it was coming but yet I still found the way it was written anticlimactic and incomplete somehow, and not in a satisfying literary way.

I found the attempt at actually writing the band’s hit song “Honeycomb” and playing it at the end of the audiobook embarrassing??? You can’t write a novel and paint a picture about how extraordinary and talented and huge this band was and then expose my ears to whatever that was and expect me to say, yes, people definitely would have gone crazy over this song. It was cringey.

This book was good. Not great, but good. Which is a bit of a letdown after all the hype.
I will say this was probably the best audiobook I've read. The production of this one was amazing. There's a whole cast of characters, a different actor for each character, and I really liked that they made the instrumental of Honeycomb at the very end for us to listen to.
I thought the story was good. It was interesting enough for me to not DNF, but I didn't like it as much as some of the other books I've read this year.
The characters were... something. Obviously Daisy and Billy were the main characters and I was fairly interested in both of their struggles with addiction, but I couldn't get into their love story. I loved Billy and Camilla together. They were so cute and I loved that she was strong for him while he was getting sober, but then he just falls in love with Daisy? Cheating emotionally is just as bad as cheating physically and I know the point was that he was struggling to be the good guy for Camilla but I think she deserved better.
Daisy was honestly a cool character but I didn't like how many times the other characters called her cool. Like every single one of them called her cool at least once and with how many characters there were in this book, that was plenty. Anyway, Daisy was fun and stubborn and the way she struggled with her own addiction made her even more human, but I felt like she wanted to be this big rock star and she finally got it with the band but then she was only there to fall in love with Billy and
Spoiler once he chose Camilla, that was it for her dreams.
I don't know, I feel like there was more potential there for her.
And then there were so many other characters. I liked that there were different voices for each one, but there were still so many of them that I could never remember who was part of the band, who was their manager and so-on. They would say their name and I couldn't remember what role that character played in the story every time.
I thought the style of writing, where it was kind of written as a play, was cool. I think that's why it lent itself to audiobook so well. I imagine the physical book to be laid out similar to a script because of this.
So yeah, there were intriguing parts to this book, but ultimately I think it fell a little flat for me.
