If I read the word "totes" ever again I might scream. And soooo much drama and sooooo many misunderstandings. Ugh.

Another dud for me. I downloaded this from net galley in hopes that I would have a nice holiday read, unfortunately it fell flat. Ava is a weak character and Debs is creepy. Like what's with the constant totes? Its bizarre and stupid. They travel to Paris to stalk Debs' step father and meet two random guys (julien and d-something, he wasn't memorable) and immediately start hanging out with them going all over Paris with them, no questions or second thoughts. Julien is obsessed with his dead sister and uses ava to distance himself.
I found the whole book vaguely creepy and super disappointing.

I’ll be honest and say I do choose a book by its cover, sometimes it just doesn’t work out for me but I must say that the story here matched up with the lovely and romantic feeling of its cover!
This is a feel good Christmassy story that makes you want to hop on a plane to Paris and experience the food and festiveness first hand.

A cute feel good rom-com...with a Christmas taste.
A stoty that reminds us, every day is special and worth being lived the fullest.

Vánoce v Paříži je docela průměrný vánoční příběh. Upřímně to pro mě nemělo moc velkou vánoční atmosféru a velkou roli hraje insta-love a je to docela dost pomalé a vleklé, ale jinak hodně nenáročné čtení.

I started this book right around Christmas last year, got a little into it, then picked it up again this December to finish. It’s cute and festive and super predictable, but that’s all I want in a Christmas read!

This book was quite difficult to review because there were elements I thoroughly enjoyed yet there were somethings that frustrated me a little. While the development of romance seemed too quickly paced overall, the spark between Julien, and Ava, felt natural, their narrations were well written and heart-felt.

Photography features quite a lot in the book, some of my favourite moments were when Julien was taking photos of Paris, everything seemed to come together, and the descriptions of what he was photographing worked very well. Ava became Julien’s muse from their first encounter, taking photos of her without her say-so which I didn’t agree with. But as photography is a fond hobby of mine, Julien’s passion for it, kept me interested.

As a Christmas novel, I can see the plot and characters will be a little fluffy and light-hearted. But the story was compelling, and I genuinely couldn’t put it down, I felt gripped. I’ve come away in good spirits from the book, as the story is memorable.

One Christmas is Paris is a sweet story about letting go and living in the moment. This book is sure to put you in the holiday spirit, no matter the season. Warning! This book will make your mouth water at the slightest mention of some seriously delicious sounding French food! In addition to making you hungry for something scrumptious, this book will make you want to pick up a camera and take photos, or pick up a pen and draw, or it will inspire you to do whatever you find to be artistically stimulating.

Ultimately, this book will make you feel warm and tingly inside while reading the charming love story of Ava and Julien. The themes of this novel include tragedy and loss, cheating and suspicion, and ultimately lessons learned. One of the most important concepts of the novel is that you should live life to the fullest and when you do experience the loss of loved ones, you should remember them with love and joy rather than sorrow. Embracing your passions and opening your heart to love will lend itself to a life worth living.

⅘ for this charming christmas story set in Paris

This was a feel good book that I enjoyed. There were parts of it that were slow and I did feel that end was just ehhhh. The setting of Paris at Christmas added to the coziness of this book. I think it would have been more enjoyable if I had read it during the holidays. Oh well!
