I received this ARC in a giveaway I entered. I don't know if I need to mention that or not because it in no way reflects my feelings on this book, which are massive. This just found its way to being my favorite book by Claire. It was breathtaking. I wasn't able to sync my kindle app on my Nook, so I read it on my phone. THAT is how much I Needed to read and finish this book in one sitting. I thought I would hate Jensen. I did. I had my earrings off and everything ready to take him down to avoid crushing Mia again. But oh my God... I love him. I LOVE him. Their story is just something you have to read to understand. You won't get it from a blurb, you won't get it from a reviewer or blogger telling you how they feel. You need to read it and experience it yourself. This is possibly the longest review, if that's what you want to call it, that I've ever written. I loved it this much. I'll love it even more when I read it again. And when the Paperbacks come out on September 10th, I'll love ordering a signed copy to sit with all my other signed copies of Claire books.

One of my favorite series

Claire Contreras has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This series is so emotional and thoughtful, you really get attached to the characters in the story while you are crying and laughing with them. I'm super excited to see if other books are written in this series as I don't want it to end yet!

Note: This ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

The heart is an amazing thing, able to figuratively break but still helping you stay alive even when you feel like dying. It can even break more than once and continue to survive even though you think it'll never be whole again. Both Mia and Jensen lived through the heartbreaks they both experienced and caused, and if love were a logical thing, they would have gone on and made a greater effort to find other people. But the heart wants what it wants and these two simply never fell out of love with each other because true love doesn't give you that option and fate finds a way to reunite two hearts even when it seems improbable.

Kaleidoscope Hearts has been on my tablet ever since I bought it on sale some time ago and I downloaded Torn Hearts for free once it was available, waiting for Paper Hearts to be published so that I could read them back to back to back. Experiencing this series has resulted in a myriad of thoughts and emotions, and while her Darkness books showed her writing capabilities, the stories of both Elle Reuben and Oliver Hart and Mia Bennett and Jensen Reynolds prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Claire Contreras has a gift for touching the souls of her readers with her writing. Five-plus stars for 2015 favorite Paper Hearts. ♥

I was generously gifted this ARC in exchange for an honest review. You have no idea how happy I am that I did. I love Claire's work. All of it. I knew I would love Paper Hearts and I was not wrong. The story, the characters, the pace of the writing, everything about this book was amazing. I could not put this book down and I absolutely loved it. Jensen and Mia have a beautiful story and I knew as soon as I met them in Kaleidoscope Hearts that I couldn't wait for it to be told. I am so glad that Claire wrote this and I can't wait to read more from her.

it's no secret I'm a huge fan of Claire Contreras' writing and this book was no exception. It was gritty, raw, and realistic--at times, heartbreakingly so. I loved the intensity, the connection--undeniable, the love between all of the characters. Torn Hearts is a novella that MUST be read before reading this book... the all-nighter I pulled reading them shows just how phenomenal they are. Get them. Read them. Love them.

5 BEAUTIFULLY BRIGHT STARS

This has to be one of the best-written stories I’ve read all year. It’ s beautiful, heart breaking, and wonderful all at the same time. I could not put this book down! Every word that was written drew me in! Claire has become one of my all-time favourite writers. This book had so much emotion in it; I just couldn’t help but to fall in love.

Jenson and Mia once had the most epic love, one that everyone wished they had. But when Jenson moved to NYC for college, their relationship changed forever.

“And nothing is more haunting than regret.”

Five years later Mia finds herself in New York to temporarily photograph couples for a magazine. The stories she has to capture are all “Second Chance” romance stories of real live people in New York. Mia finds out that Jenson is also working on the same story she is, as a writer. She is determined to stay closed off and to not fall in love with Jenson again.

Jenson has other plans. Since they ended things, Jenson has made some mistakes. But the one thing that hasn’t changed was his feelings for her, and he will not let her get away again because “real love stories never end”.

I’m a huge fan of second chance romances. And this one probably takes the top. Jenson is swoony, and Mia is a beautiful independent women. I loved that we got to see what the characters from Kaleidoscope Hearts were up to during the time gap. I have nothing else to say that won’t give out spoilers, but I’ll leave you with this one last quote from Jenson.

“Some say I loved her to the point of madness, bordering on obsession. She said I put her on a pedestal that her real self couldn’t attain. Perhaps they’re all right. Perhaps I am mad. And if that’s the case, to be frank, I don’t give a damn. What I know is that she sets me on fire, and if you were to perform an intradermal test on me, you’d know when she was in it because you’d see the trails of blaze she left behind. Because that’s what I feel at the mere thought of her, and I’d rather live my life in flames than be numb without her.” He paused, and I let out a breath, but then he said one last thing. “Come back to me, my little Road Runner, my world is cold and boring without you.”

4.5 Beautiful stars.
This story is about the powerful connection of a true, deep love. A love story that has no end. A story that shows how sometimes the heart sings a different tune than our mind. Sometimes, the heart knows what it wants and nothing can convince it otherwise. I think the book is crafted to pull people in. Everyone has a moment in time they would like to change. Some actions are irreversible, but luckily love is all encompassing. It can heal a multitude of wounds. Loving someone deeply is sometime letting them go. And this book describes these feelings perfectly. It's sweet and sugary, sometimes it is hard and difficult, but it's alive and thriving beneath the readers finders.

I really enjoyed this story. I likes the first book but I think I liked this one more. I really loved Jensen and Mia. Their love and chemistry was very strong and I knew right from the beginning what was going to happen. I liked that Jensen's parts were of him writing in his column about what was going on in his life and how he felt about it. I feel like the story progressed quickly but not to slowly. I really enjoyed all of the characters. I was so happy with the ending. There were a few times that I was brought to tears by the story. I know a book is always good when I am so invested in the characters' emotions that I tear up when they are upset. I am so happy I downloaded this on Audible.
