The Daevabad Trilogy is my favorite series of all time. It felt pretty good to be back in this world. Reading these short stories helps to fill in some of the blanks and get some insights to what happened after the Empire of Gold.

I really just wanted this to be longer. I love the Daevabad Trilogy and seeing the characters again, especially in this way where we’re not really adding on to the plot too much but just seeing them now was the best way. And this just made me even more excited for her new book coming out next year.

What a delight to return to the world of Daevabad - these small connected vignettes gave greater clarity and context to the broader world of the trilogy and was frankly just a bash to be in that world again. And these small stories, while disconnected, still formed a narrative arc across and beyond the 3 books which they supplement.
