If kids know the stories in the first three books, this would be an excellent book for them. As an adult, I still prefer the series of short stories with a bit more substance than in this book.

Disappointing. A bit boring, a bit lame. There could have been a through story. There could have been at least some interesting little bits of story. Instead it is just a lot of words with the same letters. And for an alphabet book, each of the entries for each letter was also too long. The art was fine, but couldn't save this.

I always love anything Mary Poppins. This is no exception!

This was a sweet book, and I’d love to add it to my collection for my children.

This literally is an A-Z page by page of super small stories about that letter. I wanted to read all the Mary Poppins books and this was one of them so I sat and read the A-Z with the brief descriptions of Jane and Michael and all the other letters and people. It helps having read the other books because it mentions every one, and for a short picture book those short stories were the same style as the longer ones in the novels.
For a quick read it was good and as I say, is written in a similar style rather than a generic A-Z book. Travers made it read like any other Mary Poppins story. Probably an unnecessary read if you don't have kids to read with or to in terms of the general Mary Poppins story, but if you are curious or want to read all the Mary Poppins books then this will not take you very long at all.

I started reading this book aloud to my niece while I was visiting her. It was a cute tong twisting read that she enjoyed and even read it a bit on her own. We never got back to finish it together, so I had to finish it on my own. Not quite like other Poppins tales, but still the same magic and whimsy.
