I think this might be one of my least favorite books ever. I have loved so much of Zevin's work this one caught me so off guard. I don't understand the hype and how none gamers could slog through this. I am a gamer and I struggled. The book is pretentious. The characters are awful. There is no plot to speak of. No. No. No.

the first few chapters were slow, but the world building/descriptions were so vivid I felt fully transported into the book, I honestly forgot I was reading a book it was so immersive.

It was a complex story about friendship and life, how you grow apart and come together: over smaller fights, misunderstandings and just life itself.

I found myself crying from the second to last section of the book to the end.

Simultaneously was a coming of age story, rom com and drama. A surprisingly deep story, not expected from the short description provided by StoryGraph-and I loved every second of it.

The faux biography Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin astounds at every possible juncture. Centring a pair of marginalized video game developers and their rise to fame, her book delves deep into the psyche of both major characters. She plots their success at forming their game company Unfair Games, their fights (creative and personal), the consequences of their success, their separation and their reunion. Every character leaps off the page and demands to be a player, not an NPC, and the characters' pasts heavily influence their development and their actions. I have never read a book so enthralling, so personal, or so realistic. I eagerly await more from Zevin and her incredible mind!

Absolutely brilliant in every sense of the word.

I haven't read a book like this in years. One the evokes the human condition on such a level that will make any reader feel every emotion while reading this book.

I cried, laughed, and yelled while reading Zevin's work. It broke me and put me back together. I loved this book so much.

The fact that there was such wonderful representation ,Jewish, disabled and queer made me love parts of this book even more.
It was so much more than a book about game developing. It was about love, friendships, parents and grief.

Spoiler I've never read an omniscient narrator book where I've felt so deeply for multiple characters; so much so that when they're in conflict, I root for each and see the flaws in each. I love that this is a story about love, beyond just romantic love. I love how the main characters don't just inevitably end up together, yet they fight for each other, care for each other, and question their own worthiness to accept the love of the other. I appreciate the queer characters. It normalizes it, speaks to the challenges, but doesn't consume the central plot of the book. The NPC chapter was definitely my favorite. Dinged it's final score because I feel the ending didn't close as smoothly as I had hoped. Still, one of the best books I've read this year.
