Global Undergrounds is a bit difficult to get a grasp on. Divided into 13 different themes concerning underground spaces, such as "dwelling" and "labour," it attempts to trace how the space below our feet has informed humanity throughout our history and into our future. Yet the essays contained within each section are almost too numerous—by the time you start becoming interested in the subject manner, it's over, and time to move on.
