Well honestly I was not super into it a lot of parts. Like I have so many questions and I’m confused about a lot of parts but I got to 80% and right before she was about to leave I was hooked and had to know what happened but the spicy level was all tease. And I have so many question about the part where she was trying to escape his bedroom in the hole abs the flash backs and realizing she’s the killer and her hiding her skin and her race and then blaze (was that his name??) when he turned old and scared when he got his ring taken off? And also the detail that he found her as a baby - is this grooming? Like he’s a father figure and all she wants to do is bang him. And the. He can’t live with out her!?? AND WHY DOES HE NEED TO DRINK HER BLOOD?? Like I have some guesses about stuff but at the same time wtf - needless to say I already downloaded and started book 2.. AND I HOPE THERR IS SOME SPICE!!! Because I want the spicy smut

Was not a fan of this book. 2⭐️
The writing style had me confused, the characters and world building didn’t have enough detail. The character interactions were confusing. I had to rack my brain to find anything that resembled Rapunzel. There was a tower. Her hair was to her hip. She painted. She walked around barefoot. Ok cool.
The love interest was more of a parental figure to me so the Stockholm syndrome vibes did not do it for me cuz I kept thinking of him as her dad. Nothing was clearly defined. As the story progressed there was more questions than answers which was so frustrating. And the FMC was so wishy washy and indecisive I wanted to scream at her….and did a few times.
Everything was confusing. I didn’t know what was going on half the time and I AM AN AVID FANTASY READER so I know how to build worlds and characters that aren’t the norm. I can usually read between the lines and visualize the unfamiliar. I am comfortable with things that are new and strange but this was not enough and too much all at once. I don’t know why this book was so hyped. I was so disappointed.

Sarah Parker’s writing is so poetic and dark and traumatic and it just spoke to my soul in a way no other book has before. This book was so unique and I cannot wait to see where this series takes me!
The trauma and PTSD representation from the FMC really pulled at my heart strings and I’m so excited to watch her develop and reveal secrets about her past.
Rhordyn…. I feel like I should love him, but like…… I do. I have faith in him. But I’m also scared of him???
