I havenā€™t disliked a book so much in such a long time. Overall, this was so confusing all. the. time. Itā€™s from the FMCā€™s POV (sheā€™s very sheltered), so weā€™re getting a limited worldview. However, we donā€™t even get what she perceives might be happening. The world building was so lackluster, and the language used made the time period confusing. It was so overly descriptive that we knew exactly how something tasted, but not what was going on in the story. It took until about 70-75% of the book for me to become interested in the story, and even then, I just want someone to spoil what happens in the next books.

The MMC is incredibly toxic, abusive, and rude. Heā€™s set up to be one of the love interests for the FMC, who definitely has stockholm syndrome. The FMC has interesting traits, talents, and skills that are kind of overlooked by the not so great storyline.

I wouldnā€™t recommend this book, and Iā€™m not sure what all the hype is about.

This was a masterpiece in dark fantasy romance !
This book was spectacular - the writing was beautiful and descriptive but still easy to understand. The world building & character development phenomenal.Ā

I have SO many questions, but it still gave me enough to piece together & be throughly intrigued.Ā
I also adore Oraliathā€™s characterā€¦ her trauma is real along with her reactions & how she has tried to cope with them - but sheā€™s also strong & capable & trying to do better! I was worried she was going to take books (like the plated prisoner series; which I still love) to find her strength but the journey in the book was outstanding, it never felt rushed, it all just felt right!Ā

Iā€™m so excited to see what will happen between her & the main love interests as wellā€¦ who is the good one? Who is the bad one? What are their stories? What do they want from her?!!!!Ā
& after all the secrets that got exposed at the end of this book?!! Ahhh!!! I can tell there is so much more to find out!Ā

I canā€™t wait to continue with b2Ā
