I love the memoir style of Elizabeth Wein's writing. While some events are obvious - as they are based on historical facts - the story arc remains intriguing throughout. It is still heartbreaking to hear and I found extending the story into the Nuremberg Trials reestablished the horrific nature of the Ravensbruck camp, and their traumatic legacy of the survivors and that justice is hard to find in the aftermath. I will continue to read and listen to the Code Name Verity stories.
Graphic: Body horror, Confinement, Hate crime, Physical abuse, Violence, Forced institutionalization, Medical trauma, War, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Ableism, Death, Racism, Sexual violence, Slavery, Torture, Police brutality, Antisemitism, and Murder
