A very fun little read. In typical Terry Prachett-fashion is also pretty insane. I really enjoyed it but there are more unique and fun stories by Prachett therefore just 3,75 stars.

I really enjoy this book. One of that Pratchett books meant for a bit younger audience but just as fun for the adult reader who loves imaginative tales.
Not sure how many times I have read it, many, that is for sure.

OK, so I DNF this audiobook. I think the main reason is because I sometimes find Terry Pratchett's writing hard to follow audibly-- like, for instance, I have no idea what's really going on. I'm aware that the different "tribes" of people are metaphors for different cultures, which is classic Pratchett-- but I am unable really to distinguish who from who with the narration. This could be a personal problem.
I also was rubbed the wrong way when Pratchett referred to Indigenous practices as people who try to cure things by waving bones and chanting. I normally turn the other cheek when it comes to his out-dated and insensitive moments, because he wrote these things in a different world and 9 times out of 10, when he gets to his point, he is actually poking fun at the people who are prejudice and not the other way around. With that being said, I think I'll wait to judge this book further until I've read it with my eyes & not my ears.

A book by Pratchett that I'd always missed. So I thought I'd plug that hole in my knowledge. Definitely some forerunners of what would become Discworld but for the most part it reads as a more straight-up fantasy, just with the caveat that they're actually microscopic people living in a dirty carpet.

Fun and imaginative world and some good, funny bits. The story was a bit meandering and I didn't enjoy it as much as the short stories on this theme.

A fun fantasy world of people who live in a carpet. Based on the serials posted at the end of the audiobook version I listened to, the book I read is quite different from the original, but it's always fun to see growth in an author.
