I really liked this book and the romance was so great! The relationship dynamic is very similar to The Love Hypothesis in a lot of ways though.

What can I say? I'm an Ali Hazelwood girly. I know she isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I adore her and her writing. Yes, the MMCs are almost always written as the absolute perfect guy, but I don't care. I'm a sucker for a cute romcom. As a bit of a nerd myself, I always appreciate the little pop culture references she makes throughout her books.

All this to say, if I see Ali Hazelwood on the cover, I can guarantee I'm going to enjoy reading it.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW SEXY AND ADORABLE THIS BOOK WAS? i absolutely love it when i think a book won't be that good but it turns out to be the opposite.
honestly, the love hypothesis failed to meet my expectations by just an inch. i thought it would be a little better considering the hype and seeing people call this TLH 2.0 made me hesitant to read this. i thought that this won't be good, or worse. but no, this was so quirky and cute. bee is such a badass and LEVI? im a legit sucker for grumpy mmcs. my problem with tlh had been the lack of confessions from adam, and this, THIS had all the admissions i'd yearned for.

Did this book basically rework the plot of The Love Hypothesis but assign different names to it? Yes. Did I still manage to fall in love with it? Yes.

There was a lot more character development throughout this book compared to The Love Hypothesis — which I really appreciated! I absolutely fell in love with Bee and Levi and I’m soooo happy they got a happy ending immersed in academia.

Although Adam Carlsen will always be my #1 STEM book boyfriend, Levi Ward is an extremely close #2 ❤️

"Can you do something for me, sweetheart?... I want you to take a step to your right. Another. Another... Perfect. Now sit down.... Because I'll need to restrain Guy until security gets here. And I won't be able to catch you when you pass out." - Levi Ward

AHH my heart M E L T E D!! The fact he knows her anxiety so well and wants to make sure she's safe is just too perfect

don’t get me wrong, it was cute. but after reading 5? romance books in the last 2 weeks, these are starting to mesh together. I will give the author props for doing a STEM setting, don’t think I’ve read a book like it in that way

2.5-3 stars. Overall, the book was fine. I am very glad that my first foray into Ali Hazelwood's books was "The Love Hypothesis", as I really enjoyed that one, because the 3 novellas and then this book are much weaker reproductions of it. Since it felt like a lesser version of TLH, I was kind of meh about it. And it was a bit tiring to have the MC constantly bemoan how she hates working with men and how they are just the worst in the workplace. And who cares that Levi's music was primarily male artists - that does not imply someone hates, or does not want to promote women! Also, what is with the author having almost all her male characters pining away for a girl (who is oh so quirky) that they barely interact with? Levi also didn't really have a personality, though he does have a crippling issue with communication...but we got there in the end. My recommendation is anyone who enjoys romance novels should read "The Love Hypothesis" and could pick this up afterwards, knowing it's definitely not as good, but it is light and quick. Her novellas should be scrapped.
