Great writing, lovable characters, dragons, and really great portrayal of political unrest. The emotions the characters experience felt realistic and the politics did too. The overall vibe was very similar to Red Rising. Excited to continue the series!

Loved this book from the start
So much so I took notes on things I wanted to make sure to praise in thr review
First off, if you have the chance to listen to the audiobook the narrators really so the characters justice
The point I knew I was going to love this book, rather than like it came early *mini spoiler*
when the male lead recognizes other characters flirting with a significant power disparity and finds it unappealing - which is foreshadowing for his overall character arc

Continues to flaunt many similar typical trends seen frequently in fantasy novels

I'm so many ways this novel excites and intrigues and the narrators for the audiobook are exceptional
