Another awesome novel by Rick Riordan.

I love how small characters from the last novel take on larger roles in this one, leaving no character forgotten. In a series it is easily to create a character and forget all about them, but something a character said in a small scene in the first novel is quoted word for word. It adds a depth to the series that many lose all too easily.

Again, character development was huge in this novel as we see the demigods mature from preteens into full blown warriors ready to fight in the first lines of a war. Love that was hinted at takes a major role this time around, with if being a driving factor for Percy, Annabeth and several others. Subplots become more important, and we finally get a glimpse at a character that has been hidden since book one.

All in all, a fast, action-packed, and well-thought-out read.

I am so terrified for the last book. If anything happens to any of these characters..... I will be crying on my kitchen floor, no holding back.
