I thought this was pretty good. Looking back, I might have given it 3.5 stars. It def kept me on my toes and it's cool how the author makes you believe the person in the current plot line is someone different each time, even though it's the same person throughout the whole book. Turned out to be paranormal which was a lil annoying, but the ending was satisfying!

What was that? This should have been at least 2 separate stories. Why was this one book? It was incredibly hard to follow, and made zero sense in so many scenes.

2.5. This book had so much potential up until the very last 30% of it when we realise the “horror” aspect of the book, the demonic possession or whatever that was. While i enjoy that trope in movies (i eat it up actually), however, it’s hard for me to take a book seriously with anything remotely related to souls taking over other bodies.

The lake is darker than a coffin with the lid shut.

This book made zero sense. I was going off a recommendation from my sister because she seems to like Riley Sager and most of the time, our tastes align. So, I figured if she liked it then I must but alas…

I’m a little tired of the “nosey drunk neighbor with nothing better to do” character. And if we kept rolling along with that, it would’ve been the same as the other books I’ve read with that character so he had to shake it up and throw some paranormal activity in there. But it made absolutely no sense. He could’ve just written a book about a possessed woman and murder and left the other half of it out.
