I'm gonna have to re-read this book again. A lot of deep thoughts from the character and you definitely need to be in the right mindset and focus to read this book. Rating TBD

I read this purely to deepen my understanding, finally, or hopefully, of the HYYH universe. To see into the inspiration behind the darker turning point in BTS' story, to grow a bigger picture in my mind of what it's all supposed to mean, how Young Forever blossomed into the twisted black of Wings. After reading this book, I can see it.

Demian is a story about a man who wants to touch the universe. There are so many stories like this, all told in their own different ways - we, as humans, have this natural desire to be more and feel more than we are, to understand existence and unlock the answers to questions we can't even fathom. And this is what this book did, it's what it does, what it makes you think about. The shame of it was that I found it hard to relate to it after a certain point - the answers that Sinclair found didn't satisfy me, although I felt like in our questions about life, our paths do intertwine. For some people this book seems to really resonate, and while I read it I can see how the words reach out to the reader, trying to connect. But like Sinclair explained in the book, everyone's own answers are different, and you need to follow your own journey.

It was easy to feel the passion in this story, and I'm glad I took the time to read it. In fact, I'm almost sad that it didn't strike a chord with me as it does others. I felt myself almost beginning to feel things within the words but then it slipped away again. I wonder why?

I can see why Namjoon liked this book. It’s very introspective.
